Support Your Consultants with RIRO Resilience Training

Reaching IN… Reaching OUT (RIRO) is a nationally recognized, evidence-based resilience skills training program developed in Canada for adults who work with young children. It was created by a team of psychologists, researchers, and early childhood professionals to help adults build the emotional and cognitive skills needed to manage stress, model resilience, and support the development of resilience in children.

For dayhome consultants, RIRO provides practical tools to strengthen personal resilience and enhance the ability to guide and support dayhome educators in fostering resilience — both in themselves and in the children they care for.

Why RIRO Matters for Dayhome Consultants

Consultants play a vital role in creating a foundation of quality and stability across dayhomes. You visit educators where they work, offering guidance, encouragement, and accountability — often in emotionally charged or high-stress situations.

RIRO helps consultants build the inner tools to stay calm, reflective, and confident while also supporting educators in doing the same.

When consultants can model and reinforce emotionally resilient practices, the impact reaches every level — from the educator’s wellbeing to the experiences of children and families.

The RIRO program consists of two parts:

Adult Skills (Weeks 1 - 3)

Child Skills (Weeks 3-6)

Program Delivery:
RIRO is delivered live over Zoom in a small-group format that’s flexible, interactive, and designed with dayhome life in mind.

Public Intakes:
Every so often, ADSN will organize a public group training where consultants come from a variety of different agencies to take the RIRO program. We typically offer consultant sessions from 1PM – 330PM. Fill in the form below to be notified the next time we offer RIRO for Consultants.

Closed Group Sessions:
