Sharing Sensitive News

Conversations with families about a child’s development, behaviour, or emerging concerns can be some of the most challenging moments in an educator’s work. Sharing Sensitive News is a practical, evidence-informed two-part training designed to help educators approach these conversations with greater confidence, compassion, and clarity.

Through practical examples and guided learning, educators will strengthen their ability to raise concerns respectfully while keeping families at the centre of the conversation. The goal isn’t to have the “perfect” words — it’s to develop the communication skills needed to protect relationships, support families, and work together toward the best possible outcomes for children.
