Playing with Learning
TUESDAY, JUNE 10 FROM 7PM - 9PM
ABOUT THIS SESSION
Playing with Learning for Dayhomes is a comprehensive workshop designed to equip dayhome providers with the knowledge and tools to create an enriching play-based learning environment for young children. The session emphasizes the crucial role of play in early childhood development, teaching participants how play is fundamental to a child’s cognitive, social, and emotional growth. Dayhome providers learn to recognize and support the development of essential play skills, including symbolic play, cooperative play, constructive play, and exploratory play. The workshop offers practical ideas for engaging play-based activities that promote learning across various developmental domains, such as sensory play stations, dramatic play areas, and building blocks. Participants also learn techniques for observing children during play to assess their development and tailor activities to their individual needs and interests. By the end of the workshop, dayhome providers should feel confident in their ability to create a rich, play-based learning environment that supports the holistic development of the children in their care.
