ABOUT THIS SESSION

Advocacy for the dayhome sector begins with each of us. As early childhood educators and leaders, the way we conduct ourselves, engage with families, support children, and collaborate with one another directly impacts the quality and perception of our profession. Leading with Advocacy: Professionalism and Ethics for Early Childhood Educators invites participants to explore what it truly means to lead with professionalism, integrity, and purpose in today’s early learning landscape.

This workshop will guide participants through meaningful reflection on their own practices, values, ethics, and professional responsibilities. Together, we will examine topics such as advocacy, ethical conduct, reflective practice, family engagement, and best practices in early childhood education. Participants will also explore how reflective leadership can strengthen their practice, improve relationships, and support high-quality care for children and families.

Through practical discussions and self-reflection activities, educators will gain tools to critically examine their own policies, practices, and approaches, and identify ways to continue growing as leaders and advocates within the sector. This workshop encourages educators to embrace their role not only as caregivers and educators, but also as passionate advocates and Protectors of Play who help shape the future of early childhood education.
