ABOUT THIS SESSION

Children experience stress too, and the adults who care for them play an important role in helping them understand and manage it. Kids Have Stress Too! is an evidence-based program from Strong Minds Strong Kids, Psychology Canada that equips educators with practical tools to support children’s stress management, emotional regulation, and resilience.

This session will explore how stress can affect children’s feelings and behaviour, how to recognize when children may be feeling overwhelmed, and ways to help them develop positive coping skills. Discover engaging, age-appropriate activities that encourage children to recognize their emotions, release tension, practise relaxation, and approach challenges with greater confidence.

With a focus on strategies that fit naturally into play and everyday routines, you’ll gain ideas for creating a supportive dayhome environment where children can practise managing stress and build skills they can carry with them as they grow.
