ABOUT THIS SESSION

Parachute Safe Kids Week is an annual awareness campaign designed to make people aware of preventable injuries to children. This year’s campaign focuses on #SafeSpeedsForKids.

Join us on June 2 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm to learn more about what we as parents, caregivers and community members can do to advocate for safer roads for children and all road users. Patti Stark and Kristy Demarais from the Injury Prevention Centre will share some practical steps we can take to ensure that kids are kept safe on the roads where they live, learn and play.

Yes! A certificate will be available for those who attend the session live. Keep an eye on the chat for the link to the feedback survey. Once it is filled out a certificate will be automatically emailed to you within one week.

Will there be a replay available?

Yes! ADSN members will be able to catch the replay in the Courses section of our online portal.

Does this session qualify for time release funding?

Unfortunately, based on the Alberta Child Care Funding Guide, free professional development does not qualify for Release Time Funding.

This session will guide you through the essentials of personal emergency preparedness and practical strategies to keep your dayhome operating safely during unexpected disruptions

Planning for Positive Meal Times

Explore how to create supportive and enjoyable mealtime experiences in a dayhome setting. We will introduce menu planning, focusing on the plate model, food groupings, and beverage choices for children. The session also covers building positive feeding relationships, offering family-style meals, establishing consistent routines, and navigating common mealtime challenges such as transitions, picky eating, and trying new foods.

Big Life Transitions

When children go through big transitions, providers often see the ripple effects in their dayhome. Learn practical tools to guide kids through change so you can restore calm, connection, and consistency for everyone.
