It’s been a long time since we’ve hosted an in-person event (like before COVID!), and we are so excited to meet some of our dayhomies in person!
We’ve put together a really fun day where you’ll be sure to leave feeling like you’ve got some new tools and tricks to use in your dayhome, AND you might even make a new friend!

Are children permitted? YES! We want to make this workshop accessible for as many dayhome providers as possible, so we are permitting attendees to bring ONE child with them to this workshop event.
Please ensure that the child attending is able to sit through the teaching portion of these workshops – approximately 45-60 minutes. There will be time for hands-on learning where you can enjoy the activities together with your child.Â

Unearth the power to revolutionize your day home operations with our exclusive workshop dedicated to unravelling the secrets to sourcing, arranging and finding loose parts for outdoor play spaces. This is not your average training. If you’re a day home operator driven by the desire to provide innovative, engaging and transformative play experiences for children, this is an opportunity you can’t afford to miss.
Our workshop is designed to empower you with the knowledge and skills to transform mundane outdoor play spaces into dynamic, stimulating, and engaging environments. We will guide you through the processes of identifying viable loose parts that foster creativity, arranging them in inviting ways that spark curiosity, storing them efficiently, using them safely, and sourcing them sustainably, and economically.
- Addressing safety in using loose parts.Â
- Addressing the recent position statement of the Canadian Pediatric Society on risky play in child care/ schools and how we can use loose parts to implement the recommendations within the position statements.
- Finding ways to creatively get outside and provide low-cost, open-ended materials for outdoor play spaces.
