ABOUT THIS SESSION
Every child develops at their own pace, but how do you know what’s typical and when a child might need extra support? This session will provide a practical, research-based understanding of child development from infancy to preschool. Dayhome providers will gain confidence in recognizing key developmental milestones, understanding when additional support might be needed, and learning how to foster healthy development through play and daily interactions.
What You’ll LEARN:
- Major developmental domains – Speech & language, motor skills, social-emotional growth, and cognitive development
- What’s expected at different ages – Typical milestones from infancy through preschool
- The range of normal – Understanding variability in development and when to monitor progress
- When to take action – Recognizing when a child might need extra support and how to respond
- The provider’s role – How to encourage development through play, interactions, and a supportive environment
