Each dayhome business sets their own hours of operation with most dayhomes covering a minimum of 10 hours per day to accommodate parent travel time and an 8 hour work day.
Common dayhome hours are typically between 7:00am and 5:30pm from Monday to Friday. However, some dayhomes do offer extended hours and may be open from 6:00am to 6:00pm or something similar.Â
Some dayhomes offer overnight and weekend care for parents who may need child care to accommodate shift work – but these arrangements are harder to find and typically come with a premium rate.
Most dayhomes have set operating hours and will not deviate from their schedule, while other dayhomes may extend their hours for a family as needed. There may be an additional fee to accommodate special circumstances.
