ABOUT THIS SESSION

When a new family joins your dayhome, the first few days and weeks set the tone for your entire relationship. This is what we call onboarding—the process of welcoming families, introducing your expectations, and helping them understand how your program works.

Many providers jump straight from the interview to the first day of care, but skipping a clear onboarding process can lead to misunderstandings, stress, or mismatched expectations later on. A thoughtful onboarding system helps everyone—parents, children, and you—feel prepared, supported, and confident from the start.

In this workshop, we’ll walk through what onboarding looks like in a dayhome setting and why it’s one of the most important parts of your business. Together, we’ll explore what information families need before starting care, how to communicate your policies and routines, and ways to make the transition smooth for children.

You’ll leave with a step-by-step plan and practical tools to help you create an onboarding process that builds trust, clarity, and lasting partnerships with families.

This session is a great next step if you’ve taken part in our Marketing Magic and Interviewing & Choosing Families Well workshops, but it also stands strong on its own.

This workshop requires a minimum of 15 participants to run. If we don't reach that number, all registrants will receive a full refund.
